# ASPO Shards ASPO Shards (ASPO) is an BEP-20 governance token for ASPO World. ASPO holders will be able to claim rewards if they stake their tokens, play games and participate in important governance votes. The mechanics described above have two main goals: To reward players who interact with ASPO World while also incentivizing them to retain their tokens so they can get more rewards. We also decentralize ownership and administration of ASPO World. We want ASPO to be the first game that is actually owned and operated by the community that plays it. This opens up unlimited possibilities but also requires developers to be careful in approaching.
